Brest is a modern, sophisticated city that revolves around its long length of coastline within one of the prettiest bays in northwest France. One of the country’s most historic ports, it has played an important role in its military history over the years, but was sadly all but destroyed during the Second World War. The result is a restored city with new architecture fashioned to an almost grid-like layout.
